Why Therapy?

Feeling out of sorts, directionless or stressed…

Is there a sense that life just doesn't feel quite right in some way. Do you feel that you are going through the motions and nothing seems to change. Are you struggling with relationships, work or a recent event or crises that has knocked you back. Perhaps you have experienced a loss whether that be a job, a relationship or loved one through bereavement. Or is the pain of your past feeling very much alive in your day to day life. You may be feeling overwhelmed, stressed or frustrated by your circumstances. 

It can be difficult to manage any one of these things on your own, that's why accessing talking therapy from a professional can be of tremendous benefit. Often we don't need more advice but rather a better understanding of ourselves, our relationships and our own experiences in order to make the changes we need. 

Whether you are coming with a here and now event or you want to explore some historical parts of yourself that may be interfering with your present, I work with an empathetic and non judgemental attitude fostered through a relational based approach. Having trained as an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist I am able to utilise a range of skills and knowledge to provide a more nuanced understanding in addressing your individual needs.  



Ways to access counselling

I offer several ways of engaging in sessions, face to face, online or over the phone. Here are some things to consider when choosing which might be the right option for you.

Face to Face:

I have a lovely room based in Chapel Allerton which is convenient for both parking and bus routes. This is the more traditional way of accessing therapy and provides you with a separate space away from the rest of your life.

Online and Phone:

Due to recent events you may prefer to work online, there are several things to consider when choosing this option. Benefits may include the saving of time and money by excluding travel and flexibility in regards to scheduling your sessions in with the rest of your routine. However it is worth taking into consideration your privacy and whether you feel you have a confidential space that you can use.
